Tim started piano lessons at age eight with Ms Rosemary McIndoe and, after four years’ study, achieved his Grade 6 AMEB certificate before pursing jazz piano with Steve Sedergreen. In Year 11, he completed VCE Music Solo Performance at Camberwell Grammar School under the tutorship of Glenn Riddle.
After school, Tim received his Bachelor of Music from La Trobe University, majoring in Audio Engineering and then went over to the UK to teach music and IT at Oundle School, Northamptonshire for a year. Tim returned to Melbourne to attain his Diploma of Education with a double music major in 2000.
On graduation, Tim moved to Perth to teach music, IT and outdoor education at Guildford Grammar School. Tim eventually became Head of Outdoor Education and Recreation, gained his MBA in Educational Leadership from Charles Sturt University and then started his own events and music business in Perth.
In 2006, Tim moved to King Island, Tasmania after being appointed Head of Campus for Ballarat Clarendon College’s Year 9 residential school. He also began producing dance music from a home studio, which he continued under the alias “Fourth Nation” for the next few years when he returned to Melbourne.
Tim is now teaching piano at Whitefriars College and from his home studio in Brunswick while continuing to study performance with Caroline Almonte. Tim achieved his Associate Diploma in Music (AmusA) with Distinction in 2013.
